Kathmandu, Nepal — Golden Peak High School (GPHS) made a remarkable impact at Boudha Mahotsav 2083, showcasing both the spirit of youth service and Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. Through student-led initiatives and traditional dance performances, GPHS demonstrated its ongoing commitment to leadership, compassion, and community involvement.
Student Leadership in Action: Fundraising Face-Painting Stall
Demonstrating exceptional teamwork, creativity, and leadership, the Golden Peak Student Council successfully organized and managed a special face-painting stall throughout the festival.
The charity initiative was led by student leaders:
School Captain: Akriti Ale Magar
Secretary: Dipti Gurung
Student Members: Shibani Luitel, Paridhi Rai, Yunisha Rai, Rayashna Rai, and Chhembi Rai
Former Leadership: Former Captain Emonika Rai and Former Secretary Yancy Lama
The team worked under the guidance and mentorship of art teacher Mr. Puspa Ale and Ms. Sumina Rai. All funds raised through the face-painting stall will be directly donated to support students in need, reinforcing Golden Peak’s commitment to social responsibility and community service.

The GPHS stall was honored by a visit from Ward President Bhuwan Lama (Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 6), along with Ward Members Gayatri Pudasaini, Bhagawan Thapa, and other distinguished community guests.
Celebrating Heritage: Sakela & Tharu Cultural Performances
Adding vibrant energy to the festival stage, Golden Peak High School students captivated the audience with two traditional dance performances:
The Sakela Dance: A celebratory performance showcasing the rich heritage, rhythms, and agrarian traditions of the Kirat community.
The Tharu Dance: An energetic cultural dance highlighting the unique identity and vibrant traditions of the Tharu community.
These cultural showcases were made possible with the generous support of Ojaswi Nepal, which helped empower our students to perform with confidence, authenticity, and artistic excellence.
