Kathmandu, Sept. 11: The Junior Boys’ category matches of the 8th MAAF Inter-School Basketball Tournament–2083 were held on Friday at the Golden Peak High School basketball court, with participating teams delivering competitive performances.
Golden Peak defeated New Arunodaya 27–9, with Adit Kulung scoring 13 points. Whiz-Kids edged Peace Point 16–14, led by Riyan Tiwari with 5 points. Gyan Niketan registered a convincing 23–3 victory over Lyceum, with Saurav Pariyar scoring 8 points.
Whiz-Kids continued their winning run with a 20–12 victory over New Arunodaya, as Swastik scored 8 points. Golden Peak defeated Peace Point 22–10, with Tashi Sherpa contributing 7 points. Gyan Niketan also defeated Jagat Mandir 21–7, with Pariyar again leading the scoring with 10 points.
Peace Point defeated New Arunodaya 9–5, with Prajwal Devia scoring 4 points. Golden Peak narrowly beat Whiz-Kids 12–10, with Sanjip Tamang scoring 4 points, while Lyceum edged Jagat Mandir 14–13, with Rohan Shrestha scoring 5 points.
In other matches, Shambhavi defeated Advance 31–15 and Rivera 22–10, while Advance narrowly beat Rivera 24–22. Prasphutan defeated Babylon 8–2, while Nepal Mega beat Prasphutan 6–4 and Babylon 10–5.
Among the standout performers, Adit Kulung recorded the highest individual score of the matches with 13 points, followed by Dipesh Tiwari of Advance with 11 points. Saurav Pariyar, Naresh BK and Janak BK each scored 10 points in their respective matches.
