Human trafficking is the unlawful act of transporting or coercing people in order to benefit from their work or service, typically in the form of forced labor or sexual exploitation. Human trafficking steals human’s life. World day against human trafficking is celebrated on 30th July ever year. The main aim of this day is to raise awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and protection of their rights.
Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking. Those who lack legal status, live in poverty, have limited access to education, healthcare, or decent work, face discrimination, violence, or abuse, or those who have come from marginalized communities are often the primary targets of the traffickers. The vast majority of the identified victims of trafficking are for sexual exploitation and 35 percent of those trafficked for forced labor are females. Abuse of fundamental human rights, physical or psychological abuse, unwanted pregnancy, vulnerability to sexually transmitted diseases, death, etc. are some of the dire effects of human trafficking.
Human trafficking can be mitigated by making all people educated as well as employed. We should also organize some awareness programs to stop human trafficking. Victims should be encouraged to raise their voice. Nowadays many organizations are established to provide justice to victims. The government should be more flexible to change the strategy and policies related to human trafficking. Human trafficking is a crime against humanity. So, let’s join our hands together to curb human trafficking.
