A Day of Learning and Fun
The exhibition was in partnership with Bonita Sharma, a renowned social worker focusing on menstrual health awareness and nutrition. Students from Grades 5, 6, and 7 had participated in workshops with her, gaining knowledge on menstruation and personal hygiene. These students actively contributed to various stalls during the event.
The preparations for the exhibition began a day earlier, on 8th August 2024, when the student council presented their plans to teachers, ensuring everything would run smoothly on the big day. Despite initial nerves, the exhibition turned out to be a grand success.
Exhibition Stalls and Highlights
The exhibition featured a total of six stalls:
- Game Stall
- Food Stall
- Menstruation and Its Market Stall
- Personal Hygiene and Nutrition Stall
- Face Painting Stall
- Science Exhibition
Each stall offered a unique learning experience, with the science exhibition managed by Milan Sir and his students being a standout feature. The hands-on science projects were a major attraction and received much praise from both students and parents.
Parents’ Participation and Feedback
Parents began arriving around 11 am, and despite initial jitters, everything soon fell into place. The event proceeded as planned, with student council members guiding parents around the various stalls. Grade 10 students, alongside younger students, played a pivotal role in the event’s success. The exhibition also included a celebration of Naag Panchami and World Indigenous Day, with students proudly donning traditional attire and presenting cultural charts.
Fundraising for a Good Cause
A highlight of the event was the fundraising initiative. The face painting, game, and food stalls managed to raise a modest sum, which will be donated to a local orphanage or social worker organization. The funds are currently kept in the student council’s account, ready to be allocated for a worthy cause.
Conclusion
Overall, the exhibition was a resounding success, demonstrating the dedication and teamwork of the student council, participating students, and supportive teachers. Special thanks to the parents who attended and contributed to the event’s positive atmosphere. The exhibition not only showcased the students’ organizational skills but also reinforced the importance of learning outside the classroom.
