Kathmandu, Nepal – Asar 15, 2082:
Grade 7 students from Golden Peak High School proudly participated in the National Paddy Plantation Day 2082, a significant event promoting sustainable rice cultivation in Nepal. The event was graced by the presence of Honorable Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, Ministry of Forest and Environment, along with renowned scientists, environmentalists, researchers, and representatives from various organizations.

Organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Tribhuvan University, in collaboration with the Nepal Bioscience Research Laboratory, the program was celebrated under the theme:
“Sustainable Rice Cultivation through Biofertilizer and Forest-Derived Biomass.”

The main goal of the event was to promote eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices among the youth. Key objectives included:

  • Raising awareness about sustainable farming techniques
  • Introducing the use of biofertilizers and forest-derived biomass in rice cultivation
  • Providing hands-on experience in traditional paddy planting
  • Encouraging environmental conservation through organic practices

Students enthusiastically stepped into the muddy paddy fields, learning the art of traditional rice planting. They also participated in interactive sessions with agricultural scientists, gaining insights into the benefits of using biofertilizers and sustainable inputs in farming.
